The Student Union has initiated many interesting events and actions. For example, it carried out an "Action against AIDS". With its own initiative, it held a concert in the Griboedov Theatre and all the money received was donated to the public organization - "Fund for the struggle against AIDS".

The Student Union together with the public organization "Sympathy" has organized a lecture cycle concerning diseases transferred by sexual contacts and preventative maintenance.

The Student Union has organized an ecological expedition to the Mariam Jvari national park together with the "Party of Greens" of Georgia, where students lived in camps for several days. They cleaned the national park and revealed several instances of illegal cutting of trees and so on. This event received great publicity and support and was widely reported by the mass media.

Students often invite statesmen and politicians. In April 2005, they invited the Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Mr. Michael Machavariani. He delivered the lecture and then had the open discussion with the students.

Annually the Student Union holds an intellectual game "Parliamentary Debates" in the form of a championship, where students from every school can take part.

One group of students went to Shoreti Monastery Complex to carry out the reconstruction work.

The University financed the wedding for two students Zaza Varsimashvili and Nona Kandaurishvili.

The university sport championship is held annually which is perfectly led by Andro Tsikhelashvili.

The Student Union has relations with students of foreign universities. In the summer of 2005, they made friends with the students of Colgate University (USA) – Bradley Waters, Ryan Martin, Martha Rose, and Megan Buckley – who were visiting Georgia during the summer period. They shared their experience with each other and introduced to each other the culture and the specificity of education of their countries. The hosts showed their American guests the sightseeing of Georgia. The foreign students left Georgia with great impressions.
