Counterterrorism Research Center
Founded in 2001, the Counterterrorism Research Center of Georgia, Inc. (CRCG) is an independent organization dedicated to the research of terrorism, information warfare, critical infrastructure protection and other issues of low-intensity political violence and gray-area phenomena, analysis of international instruments to which Georgia may have to ac cede and international organizations in which CRCG may affiliate for future cooperation.

The stuff of CRCG holds conferences, seminars and discussions on various important issues connected to International Terrorism. Students of the Faculties of Law and Journalism are actively involved in the work of the Research Center.
The new educational course – “International Terrorism in Contemporary International Relations” was approved and successfully implemented at Grigol Robakidze University. Above-mentioned educational course is a major novelty in the history of educational progression in Georgia. No similar courses have ever been elaborated due to lack of interest in this field. The goals of the course offered are to teach the target groups the basic subjects including the history and the evolution of the terrorist activities throughout the world, the reasons and grounds for terrorist acts, the analysis of ways of committing and outcomes that have affected the whole civilized world, studying the nature of organized crime, determining the effective ways and mechanisms of combating terror.
In September, 2003 The Stuff of the Center are invited to participate The 3rd annual International Conference on Post Modern Terrorism (Trends, Scenarios and Future Threats) which will be held in Israel.
Currently, Stuff of the Center is working on scientific program “Catastrophic Terrorism and First Responders”. Executive Secretary of CRCG is nominated as a Co-Director of the Advanced Research Workshop. The venue of the AWR under the supervision of NATO is expected to be in Germany in January 2004.
