Changing speciality
Sometimes a student finds out in the middle of hi/her studying period that the speciality he/she has elected does not meet his/her requirements or abilities. Owing to this fact the University allows a student to change the speciality any time, but not on the first year of studies.
How can you start?
-
It would be preferable if you consider your decision once more and address the Career Office for advice. You would better also look through the academic programme of your future speciality. If you become convinced in the righteousness of your decision, write an application addressed to the dean. You have to bring sound arguments. If the speciality you have chosen is in other School, you have to write an application addressed to the dean of this very School as well. Generally, Deans’ offices make a decision in favour of a student, but they can also refuse.
Which level will you be admitted to?
-
In case of a positive answer, you can be admitted to the next level of the new programme if the difference between the programmes does not exceed 40 percent. Otherwise, you can be admitted only to the previous level. In such case, you will pass the different modules together with the new ones.
-
You can be admitted to the next level even if you have not completed the academic year, but for the next level of the new programme you have to have accumulated enough number of credits in the modules you have studied within the scopes of the previous programme.
