Academic Programmes

The University accomplishes five academic programmes: Certified Specialist’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctor’s, and Resident’s Programmes.

Certified Specialist’s Programme is a single-stage programme, which is accomplished only in the School of Dentistry. It comprises five academic years. The programme aims at preparing specialists for practical professional activities. This does not prevent graduates from continuing their studies on the Resident’s Programme.

Bachelor’s Academic Programme comprises four academic years. It aims at students’ professional training and teaching the theoretical principles of the corresponding specialities to such an extent which is necessary to continue studies on Master’s Programme. Bachelor’s Programme is accomplished in the following Schools: Business and Management, Humanities, and Law.

Master’s Academic Programme aims at preparing students for scientific-research and pedagogical activities, as well as at raising their qualification and changing the speciality. This latter means that it is not necessary programmes to be identical – it is possible to complete the Bachelor’s Programme in one major and continue studies on the Master’s Programme in another. Master’s Programme is accomplished in the following Schools: Business and Management, Law, and Humanities. The duration of studies is mainly two years.

Doctor’s Academic Programme started its accomplishment at Grigol Robakidze University in 2005 – after the act of Georgia about higher education was introduced. Those having Master’s Degree or its equivalent can be admitted to this programme. The duration of this programme is three years. After completing this programme and defending a thesis person working for doctor's degree is awarded Doctor’s Academic Degree. Doctor’s Programme is accomplished in the following Schools: Humanities and Law.

Resident’s Programme implies post-diploma education for dentists. After completing the Certified Specialist’s Programme applicants start working as junior doctors in the University Dentistry Clinic.
